So before I die, I have three concert dreams:
1. Latitude in England with my whole family
2. SXSW with my wife and the Berciks
3. Primavera and Spain sightseeing with whoever will take me for free.

So this week we get some very cool footage from Spain thanks to Pitchfork attending the Primavera festival.

I have had these tracks sitting in holding for over a week, been so busy with lacrosse that I just never published them to the blog page. Now lacrosse has ended - boo hoo - so more regular posting.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The first two tracks of the new album sound stunning. It is obvious there is more production and more tricks used in the recording this time around, but the songs are still lush and personal. So happy my friend Brad got me tickets to see him in concert!  Hard to say how I feel about the quick re-release of The Suburbs. I'm sure I'll buy it, but it seems a little cheap of to me to push this out so quickly after the original release. Both new tracks sound good and I think they fit in nicely with the feel of the whole album - I really like "Speaking In Tongues," but it certainly isn't breaking any new ground.

Cults - Make Time source Tale of the Tape
I just posted two other tracks by this band in CS #12 but couldn't resist another. This highly anticipated is getting lots of hype and seems the band and album will live up to it. Love the vocals and 60's pop sound. You should get your hands on everything you can find.

Saturday Morning Videos #1 2011

I miss when I was in middle/high school, before I could drive, staying up late watching Friday Night videos. I didn't have the luxury of cable TV and MTV till I was a Junior in high school so I had to rely on that show (along with visit to my best friends house) to get my fix of music cool once a week. I also really enjoyed Saturday morning cartoons when I was little, having recently seen an old episode of Super Friends I realize I'm not missing anything just being nostalgic. Most of those old cartoons sucked compared to what is on offer today. In an effort to bring the two together I offer you Saturday morning videos.

My Morning Jacket - Circuital from Music Savage
This sounds like My Morning Jacket; great distant sounding vocals and country tinged rock. If this is what the whole album sounds like it will be one of the best this year. When it kicks in at 2:15 is great and the false ending is also cool.

Antlers - Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out from Everybody Taste
A big sweeping sound. Sounds like it will be another good album from the Antlers. I like the mix of electric guitar, mandolin plucking, and falsetto.

Clams Casino - Gorilla from Gorilla Vs. Bear
Some very cool hazy sounding beats. Reminds me of a Miles Davis remix album from years ago Panthalassa. That's some cool shi.... This would be a great listen when chilling at the beach.

Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair from Gramophone Rings
This isn't the Arctic Monkeys of "I'll Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor," but that is ok. They have grown into a rock juggernaut.
Best Lines: "Go into bussiness with a grizzly bear" and "Do the macrena in the devil's lair."
